Far to go

Monday's child is fair of face
Tuesday's child is full of grace
Wednesday's child is full of woe
Thursday's child has far to go
Friday's child is loving and giving
Saturday's child works hard for a living
The child that is born on the Sabbath day
is fair and wise and good and gay

So what does a poem know. I was born on a Thursday and until I was married had never gone far. But since getting married I have lived in 4 different states in the US and in 3 different cities in Germany. So while I may not be a world traveler I have gone "far".

I feel I have far to go in my life that has nothing to do with travel. I have far to go to be the person I want to be living the life I want to live. Don't get me wrong I have a good life. I have been married to the same person for 35+ years. Sometimes he understands me better than I do myself. Our children have grown up to be responsible adults who like to be with us. I usually like my job. And on the whole I have a nice life. But....(you knew it was coming) I have far to go to being a healthy active person. I have far to go to getting involved in the many things I would like to do but feel too tired to get started.

Since every journey near or far starts with the first step, this blog is my first step.

The first step may be hard and it may be small
But the journey won't start 'til you take it.
The path may be rough and you may fall
But life is just what you make it.
